In Memoriam – George Papworth

Everyone at Somerset Rugby is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of George Papworth, Trustee and former Club President of Weston-super-Mare RFC, who passed away peacefully on Friday evening, surrounded by his family.

George dedicated so much to his club and the rugby community, and his contribution to the game will be fondly remembered.

As a mark of respect, a minute’s silence will be observed ahead of Saturday’s home fixtures against Launceston and Morganians.

On behalf of everyone involved with Somerset Rugby, we extend our heartfelt condolences to George’s family, friends and everyone at Weston-super-Mare RFC at this incredibly sad time.
