In Memory of Treve Mitchell

Somerset Rugby sadly records the passing of Treve Mitchell, who died on Thursday 10th April at Derriford Hospital.

Treve dedicated his life to the service and support of Ivybridge RFC, fulfilling the role of Club Treasurer beginning in the 1982-83 season, a position he held for more than three decades. His commitment extended far beyond Ivybridge; for Devon RFU, Treve served as Honorary Secretary from 2008 until his retirement at the end of last season, and he led as County President from 2017-2019. Treve’s contributions to Devon Rugby were monumental, and his influence reached countless Regional Committees, earning him respect across the South West and beyond.

Though deeply committed to Devon Rugby, Treve always held close his Cornish roots, especially his beloved home town club of Camborne, where he also served as Treasurer for several years.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go to Carole and the family, as well as to all at Ivybridge RFC and Devon RFU. Treve’s contribution to the game and his presence within the rugby community will be fondly remembered.
