Boy’s Rugby

At club level, age grade rugby is the natural progression from mini rugby. Age grade rugby played from U12s to U18s, with the levels of contact and competitiveness increasing appropriate to the age of the players.

At U12s mixed contact rugby is no longer played. 15-a-side rugby starts at U14, when the lineout is also introduced.

However, no formal league rugby is played before U15. Before that, competitions are in the form of festivals.

Many clubs in Somerset run age grade, or youth, rugby.
